Vaca #1:: Portland

Hello blog world! I'm back :) I have a TON to share about all thats been going on in our lives the past few months so here we go.... (this may take me a while to catch up so it will be lots of separate posts)

We spent a few weeks on vacation before we moved to Missouri and it has taken me forever to get back in the swing of things...

Our first vacation stop was Portland, Oregon. {May 28-30th} We spent three days there with my Uncle Bill (who lives there). It was maybe one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! The weather was perfect, we spent most of the time outside looking at incredible waterfalls, flowers, mountains, parks.... we had a blast! Here's our trip in pictures....

part of downtown Portland

first stop was the Rhododendron Garden. It was incredible!

The next day we got up early and drove to the Columbia River Gorge. We stopped at so many incredible waterfalls and nature stops... It was amazing!!!!!

We played at Uncle Bill's house the next morning, had a yummy pancake breakfast, played with Reese in his beautiful backyard, she chased around his dog, Mickey, went to a park in the neighborhood, had lunch, went to the rose garden, went to the flagship Nike store (awesome!)...

thanks for everything Uncle Bill!!!

We decided to try a new form of transportation to get from Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington, so we took the Amtrack (TRAIN!!!) We weren't really sure what to expect and we made quite a scene in the train station/on the train to say the least!!! We had 5 bags, a carseat, a jogging stroller, a pack-n-play a smiley baby saying "hi" and "bye" and blowing kisses to everyone... hilarious!! Luckily EVERYONE who works for Amtrak was so nice and so helpful and the bellman guy let us go around the mile long line and helped us get everything into the train. Reese thought the train was awesome and spent most of the time playing at our feet on the floor haha.

The view was incredible along the Puget Sound!!!

and after some other craziness departing the train and with taxis and rental cars, we FINALLY made it to Seattle! more to come on that tomorrow
