sic em!

We couldn't be more proud of our Baylor Bears and that they made it all the way to the Elite 8 for the first time since like 1950ish. {i mean this is a HUGE deal people!} I have always loved march madness, filling out our brackets, crossing off who wins and loses (yes I still print it off and use an actual pen - even though i understand they now do it online for you), and keeping track of who wins and loses. {however, i must admit that I usually pick who I think will win by a)if i know someone who goes there, b) their mascot, and/or c) their colors. ha} i NEVER do well in our bracket pools but i just love it!

As we watched our bears play a great game against Duke today I was seriously soooo proud of the amount of green & gold in that stadium and that they played so awesome! Duke is just really good and I predict they go on to win it all. It was a great season Baylor! Let's do it again next year! Can't wait to teach Reese to say "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey Sic 'em Bears!!" ha

showered!!

Last weekend (March 13th) my sweet friend Heidi and my mother-in-law's bible study group threw baby Reese and I a fantastic baby shower here in Amarillo. They were so sweet and did such a wonderful job with the shower. I didn't do very good at taking pictures except for right at the beginning before everyone got there... so here are a few:

Heidi- the hostess with the mostest :)

my sweet momma - I'm so glad she was here!

all the family: Aunt Marilyn, Gramma Mason, my mom, Gramma Swaggy, Lisa (my mother-in-law) and Anne Marie (my sister-in-law)

sweet Taryn drove all the way up from Lubbock! What a dear friend. Oh how I miss you Taryn!

The pretty table! They made me the cute butterfly, bird cage and blanket and I got to bring it home to put in the nursery :) So fun and creative!!
Once again, I was overwhelmed by how generous everyone is!! I think we now have most everything we need and it's all set up and ready to go in the nursery - and all throughout our house but I love it!! {i'll post some more pictures tomorrow} Mark even installed the car seat in the car today :) We still have 3 1/2 weeks until our due date, but we're just so excited! Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful shower in Amarillo and for all the fun baby things!!! We are so grateful!

shower in a box

My parents were here this weekend for about 5 days, since we're on spring break!! We had the greatest time together, as we always do, getting things together for the nursery, shopping, eating, cooking, talking, walking..... what a blast! I couldn't be more thankful for them! Even though we live nine hours away I am so thankful that I get to see them as often as I do!Since I was unable to make it to Branson for a baby shower, my mom's sweet friends sent me a "BABY SHOWER IN A BOX!!" My parents brought it down with them and it was AMAZING!!! They are so generous and gave us the bedding for the nursery and many, many other fun things!!
We had a blast opening the huge box and seeing all the goodies inside! I can't say thank you enough to them for thinking of us, especially when we're so far away!!

nursery update

here's a quick update on what's happening in Reese's nursery...

I finished the butterfly mobile! It turned out pretty cute, of course not perfect or as great as the one from pottery barn, but it was fun to add some touches of my own (i put glitter glue around each butterfly, threw in a few pink ones and also added some sparkly beads in between):

Here is her little crib:
{we don't have the bedding yet and still need curtains}

all her cutie cute little clothes:

dresser/changing table (and mark being a goof):
{still need a chair - among other things - and the beautiful painting from the ever amazingly talented Casey Wiegand will go behind where Mark is standing. You can't really see them but I absolutely love the pink knobs from anthro! They made the dresser super cute and girly}
more to come as we get it all finished!

I am 34 weeks and 6 days today and the days are beginning to creep by. We went to a birthing class all day on Saturday, which somewhat freaked me out about all the things that could go wrong. But at my doctors appointment this afternoon I got a lot of questions answered and feel much better about everything. I know God is in control and He will take care of baby Reese and of me and everything will be wonderful. Thank you Jesus for your promise of peace and comfort and protection.

green

I am absolutely loving this warm, 70 degree weather!! I was sitting on our front porch yesterday after school and noticed these little baby day lilies starting to grow!! Oh how I love the spring. Here's to birds chirping, green grass, pretty flowerbeds, drinking lemonade, fresh fruit and long walks. You couldn't get here fast enough, springtime!
