its fall y'all

we are absolutely loving fall in missouri. i forgot how awesome it is. and mark says that for the first time in his life he understands why some people say fall is their favorite season :) in texas fall lasts for about two days in november and the trees don't really change colors.... reese is loving the fall because of one thing... BUGGINS (aka pumpkins) if i haven't said it already, this girl is obsessed!!!!!!!! She points them out everywhere! even before i even see them. we flip through magazines (mostly southern living) over and over pointing out the buggins - and sometimes counting them. sometimes she'll count to four or five by herself (but never saying one) and if we help her she can sometimes count to ten. hilarious how she doesn't say one though. even when we ask how old she is she'll put up one finger but say "do" ha We recently turned her carseat to face front {bc she is finally 20 lbs!!} and now she just stares out the window looking for pumpkins and gets so excited when she sees one :) ok so here are a few fall pictures and things we've been up to. i wish i was better at keeping this blog up to date so i didn't have these long random posts all the time. goal for november.

pumpkin patch at hyvee. she has to walk through all the pumpkins before we can go in the store every time.

beautiful day so we had our whole morning outside.

visiting daddy for dinner at the hospital when he was working nights.

our first mizzou football game (did i already post this?)

a little buggin for my punkin

so hard to capture the incredible trees in a picture... this looks like nothing. but I'm telling you it is amazing.

so random but we had this huge caterpillar outside our front door and R was obsessed with watching it all afternoon until it crawled up the bush and she spent a good 30 minutes looking for it and asking "where go?"

here's what i got when i said, "reese go stand by the pumpkin and smile" :)

another fun pumpkin patch

fall festival with our church - The Crossing
(first smores experience)

again trying to capture a picture of the leaves but this just can't do it.

awesome yellow tree in our front yard. and me saying "reeser go stand by the tree and your pumpkin and smile" she was sorta close, i guess.

happy fall y'all. we had our first freeze last night (well that i know of) and our heater has been on all day. I'm missing our fireplace big time! and in other news, i heard it snowed in amarillo yesterday. crazy!

branson again :)

Last week Reese and I were in Branson to take care of my momma who had surgery {all went well and she's recovering like a champ}. We had a fun week playing nurse and then friday Mark came down for the weekend (yea for finally having a weekend off!!!!!!!)

running up and down the hill in the front yard...

playing with the people house- this girl can do this for hours upon hours!! seriously.

got to play with baby Emerson Cole for a little bit one day. what a doll.

watching pa-doe (aka papa joe) mow the yard

Saturday night Mark and I took R to see the balloon festival they were having. she loved it! and said ba-looooon about 600 times. thats one word she says soooo clearly! she loves balloons.
the balloon glow at dusk was amazing. such a fun memory.

amarillo trip

At the beginning of October Mark's sweet parents and grandparents flew Reese and I down to Amarillo to visit them and spend the week playing. We had a blast! It was fun to see friends and play with Honey and Pops and Uncle Joel (who know lives there too!)

Honey and Pops took us to the zoo. The lions were a little ferocious... I think it was dinner time. yikes.

pops came home from work one day with tons of pumpkin surprises for this "buggin lover." too cute. she was so excited.

honey took us to the pumpkin patch. r was in heaven.

our sweet friends Jessica and little Camden came to play too.

showing pawpaw all her buggins.

playing with 'un dole' (aka uncle joel) ps. she saw antonio banderas on tv yesterday and kept pointing and saying "un dole undole!" hahaha i guess they look alike to her?!?!

play date at the church with our friends.

sure miss them!!!

was able to get a quick visit with heidi and her sweet family - and adorable new baby girl! such fun friends.

we had an awesome trip and I'm so blessed to have such wonderful in-laws that we love to visit!

it was worth the crazy travel and worst day of my life traveling back home.... oh.my.word. short version: R threw up on me four or five times on the plane. we're both soaking. i have nothing else to wear and nowhere to go. so i just turned my shirt backwards halfway through the flight. just in time to RUN to our connecting flight. she throws up again. we are delayed an hour in the air. we finally land. get on the wrong bus to get to our car in the parking lot. are left on the side of the road for "another bus" to pick us up. so scary and weird. and have all of our luggage, the car seat and stroller by myself with a sick and nasty and smelly and sooooo sweet little angel. needless to say i LOST it when we got to the car. praise the Lord for his strength. i never could have gotten through that horrible day without his Word ringing in my head. hopefully mark can travel with us next time!!

fall wreath

If I had more time I think I could be seriously addicted to pintrest. for now, I just look at specific things to get ideas on there. I have seen about a billion adorable fall wreaths and attempted to make a few of my own. Not exactly what I thought I wanted them to turn out like but I think they're still cute enough to hang on my door or maybe on a mirror inside.

{for this wreath I wrapped it in burlap and hot glued the ends. The I used this tutorial to make felt flowers and just stuck a straight pen through the center to stick it to the wreath -and this way maybe I can change out the flowers for different seasons. It was pretty easy!}

On this wreath I just made fabric flowers from this tutorial and hot glued them on a grapevine wreath. I feel like it looks very handmade and these flowers took much longer to make than the felt ones. I actually got this idea from my friend Katie - hers is much cuter! See it here.

Happy Fall =)

anneanne

Mark's sister Anne Marie made the trip to Columbia a few weeks ago to visit us :) It was such a blast and we were blessed that she sacrificed so much to come here. We had so much fun just playing outside and seeing the sights in CoMo :) ha. Here are some pictures from her visit...
