knickers

are these little "knickers" not the cutest thing you've ever seen?! (from here on etsy)
{confession: i'm slightly obsessed with looking at baby stuff on etsy. It makes me feel crafty!}

speaking of crafty, here are some floor pillows that I finally made a few weeks ago. They haven't been used yet, and who knows if they ever will be, but I still think they're cute!
I'm also in the process of making a mobile for the nursery. I found this one at pottery barn kids,
but unfortunately they don't sell it anymore. So I decided to try to make it myself... I'll let you know how it goes!

blessed

Last weekend we traveled to Ft. Worth/Dallas for our first baby shower which was thrown by my sweet Baylor friends and my sister-in-law. It was such a fun weekend and I felt so honored, loved and extremely blessed!

{at almost 32 weeks}
We stayed in Ft. Worth with my grandmother (and my parents who drove down from MO for the shower, too). For those of you who may not know, DFW got a TON of snow on Thursday before we got there (like 8-12") so there were a lot of people without power due to the crazy storm and my dear grandmother was one of them. We were quite chilly the first night as we bundled up by the fire in the candlelight, but it was kinda fun at the same time! {the second night we all chickened out and stayed in a hotel. that was pretty fun too} Here we are all bundled up...

Saturday, after spending the morning hanging out in Dallas, I was so excited to get to the shower and see everyone that afternoon.

Here are all the sweet hostesses:
{Anne Marie, Jordan, Kristen, Whitney, Jenni - Molly was there in spirit}

Yummy, yummy ice cream with any topping you could want!
it was all sooo cute!

with the grandmas - Gigi and Honey!

opening all the fantastic gifts....I just love baby things :) look how cute these little diaper covers are!
It was a fantastic shower! I had such a blast and especially loved just getting to see everyone! It's crazy to think that the next time I see them I'll have a little baby in my arms :) Yay!

So, I've been in a super crafty mood lately! Since the shower was on valentine's day weekend, I sewed these felt hearts together and wrote thank you notes for the hostesses and sewed them to the back. {i have a few more projects going and i'll post more on that as I finish them}

We now have only eight weeks left and I have my next appointment on Monday. Little Reese has been moving and kicking more than ever this week - which I love! She's definitely growing and we just can't wait to meet our little nugget.

Ok, men's skating is back on ... TTFN.

iPhone 4G

Warning...I am about to get all "techy". So you girls that normally follow Elizabeth's original and creative posts, you may want to skip reading this post.

Many of you that know me well, know that I am obsessed with what Apple is about to introduce. To be honest I am slightly disappointed in the new iPad and don't see any use for it in my life or how I would be able to use it in the future. It is completely limited in the applications that can run on it and the small hard drive leaves little to no room for entertainment purposes. However the iPhone I believe is a necessity. So on my free time I like to see what the rumors are for the next iPhone (aka iPhone 4G). This is mainly due to the fact that I am still using the 1st iPhone that Apple made and while it is one of the hardiest models
ever made, it is very slow now compared to seeing my mother and youngest sister's iPhone 3GS.

So this is an image that I found and thought it was really cool. I have always been saying that it would be great for it to be put in a aluminum case instead of the black or white plastic that it is in now. I also am ready for a hard drive up to 64GB so i can finally get rid of my 5th Gen. iPod. Finally, for those of you that have a Mac you would probably agree that the most fun and easily useable feature is the video chat. I know that I myself and many others have bought a Mac for that feature alone. All that to say that it would be very cool if Apple put the camera on the front of the iPhone and allowed video chat capabilities. I hope you enjoy the picture and look forward to what is to come just as much as I do. (Note: I didn't come up with this and can't remember what the MLA reference style is for webpages.)

Until the next time I find some cool "techy" thing to talk about.

Live long and prosper!

get over it

From Beth Moore's blog this morning....

"My devotional time this morning was spent on the subject matter of anger. I thought to myself how life offers one opportunity after another to get hopping mad about something...or, more often, toward someone and what kind of price we pay. What kinds of words we say. Proverbs 16:32 (NET) says, "Better to be slow to anger than to be a mighty warrior, and one who controls his temper is better than one who captures a city." Let's quit blaming our hormones and our husbands and our workplaces and just bring our anger problems before God. Let's tell Him what we're mad about, repent for our reaction to it, ask Him to tend to us, heal us, free us. And, if the situation or relationship continues to be irresistibly, understandably infuriating, may He teach us how to refrain from sin in our anger until we can be loosed from it altogether.

For those of us who don't have one of those monumental, overwhelming reasons to be angry and we're just temperamental, irritable, and summarily lacking in self-control, sometimes it's just the matter of making a choice. As my grandmother used to say, we can get glad in the same clothes we got mad in.

Or, then again, we could just change clothes and see if that would help. One way or the other, it's time to get over it."

{yes, i could easily blame my irritability and frustration with the dumbest little things on my crazy preggo hormones... but I think I'll try God's way this week instead! love how Beth just says, "time to get over it!!"}

thirty

Only ten more short weeks until my due date on April 14th!! I went to the doctor yesterday and he said everything looks perfect! It was another boring, uneventful appt, which is always a good thing. {except when we have to wait for an hour it seems so anti-climatictic to see the doctor for 4 minutes and he says 'you look great. see you in two weeks'} I'm now measuring kick counts twice a day - which is super easy since she basically kicks all the time!! They also said we'd 'pre-register' at the hospital at our next visit!! crazy that it's getting so close.

The nursery floors are finished thanks to our long, snowed-in weekend! here's a picture...
not sure if you can tell a difference from the before picture but it looks a million times better! I love how shiny it is now! The crib, armoire and dresser
are all moved in and Mark put up new blinds this week too! Now we just need all the decorative things to make it cute and girly :)

This weekend Mark is on call at the hospital and I have to take an ESL certification test tomorrow, yuck! Sunday we'll be cheering for the Saints, of course! We're having some friends from our sunday school class over to watch the game, so it should be fun! Then next weekend we head to Dallas for a baby shower thrown by my dear, sweet friends!

Have a happy weekend!
